Ulf Kirchdorfer is the Executive Dean for Global Education. Before landing in Albany, Georgia, as a child he lived in Sweden, Germany, and Austria. He earned a Ph.D. in English from TCU in Fort Worth, an M.A. in English with a comparative literature concentration from Ohio University in Athens, and a B.A. in English from Trinity University in San Antonio. He has been a Carnegie Foundation U.S. Professor of the Year as well as a Board of Regents Distinguished Professor of Teaching and Learning. Ulf has published extensively, in academic as well as popular venues, including Rolling Stone, The Christian Science Monitor, Harvard Review, The Faulkner Journal, and various running publications. His hobbies are running marathons, writing, and watching movies. He and his wife, Kristin, have two mini-dachshunds, Ava and Greta, at various times having up to four rescue-dachshunds living with them.
Darryn Ostrander has served in various capacities in the field of technology and education, in a career that has spanned the globe, including Sweden and several nations, in both a civilian and military capacity. At Darton College he has been the director of instructional technology, interfacing with senior administration, deans, and faculty. As part of his continued and evolving journey involving technology and education his roles now include those of institutional effectiveness coordinator and working in various capacities in academic affairs, including accreditation and global education. A graduate of Uppsala University in Sweden he enjoys living in Georgia
